Playster is a young, fast-growing company offering a subscription-based global entertainment service with offices in New York and Los Angeles. has been the firm in charge of designing its new offices located in Peel Street, downtown Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
The work was carried out by the group of architects Maxime-Alexis Frappier, Joan Renaud, Veronica Lalli, Martin St-Georges, Alain Larivée and Valérie Soucy in 2016.
The large space, with a total area of 1670 square meters, is located in an office tower from the 1980s, inside which the architects used the existing walls to create a variety of vibrant private spaces, thus saving resources and money.
In order to give its clients an environment appropriate to the high energy and creativity of the company, the architects developed a contemporary design using an open concept, all of which was highlighted by an intelligent choice of bright colors and white surfaces.
Blocks of color saturate the walls and carpets to create a strong visual impact and distinguish different zones in a fluid progression.
The colors encourage team meetings in the open space and stimulate a sense of belonging among employees as each team has its own color.
The white corridor that acts as a spine balances the strong identity of the colorful areas, connecting the meeting rooms and linking the bright sections together, while also serving as a respite from the lively office environment.
